Cancellation & Refund Policy

Project Cancellation

We understand that circumstances change. The following outlines how cancellations and refunds work for different types of engagements with Work Lekker.

Fixed-Scope Projects

For projects with a defined scope and quoted price (websites, automation setups, AI integrations):

• Deposit (50%): Non-refundable once work has commenced. This covers discovery, planning, design, and initial development.
• Second payment (25%): Due at design approval. If the project is cancelled after design approval but before development is complete, work delivered up to the cancellation date will be handed over, and the second payment is non-refundable. Any remaining balance is waived.
• Final payment (25%): Due prior to launch. If the client cancels after all work is complete but before deployment, the final payment remains payable and deliverables will be released upon receipt.

If Work Lekker initiates cancellation (e.g. due to scope changes beyond our capacity, ethical concerns, or force majeure), all payments made will be refunded on a pro-rata basis for work not completed, and any completed deliverables will be handed over.

Monthly Support & Retainers

Monthly support and retainer agreements are month-to-month and may be cancelled by either party with 30 days' written notice (via email or WhatsApp).

• Notice must be given before the 1st of the month to avoid being billed for that month.
• Fees already paid for the current month are non-refundable, but services will continue until the end of the paid period.
• We do not lock clients into long-term contracts. You are free to leave whenever it suits you — just give us the 30-day heads-up so we can hand over cleanly.

Paid Audits & Roadmaps

Paid audits and scoping engagements (R7,500 – R15,000) are non-refundable once the audit has been delivered. If you proceed with the full project, the audit fee is credited toward your project total.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days to the original payment method. Refunds for payments made via PayFast or other payment gateways are subject to the gateway's own processing timelines.

We are a small business and we value relationships. If something isn't working for you, talk to us — we'll always try to find a fair outcome before applying policy. These terms exist to protect both sides, not to trap anyone.
